Refunds & Returns Policy

At Book World, we offer a wide range of products and experiences—including retreats, digital downloads, online magazine access, subscriptions, and made-to-order merchandise. Each type of product has a specific policy to ensure fairness, clarity, and compliance with Australian Consumer Law.


 

1. Retreats

• All retreat bookings are non-refundable.

• If you’re unable to attend, you may transfer or on-sell your ticket to another guest.

• Please notify us of any transfer so we can update the booking details.


 

2. Digital Downloads & Online Magazine Access

• All digital products—including Book Club Guides, PDFs, and online magazine issues—are non-refundable once accessed, downloaded, or viewed.

• This applies to both single-issue purchases and digital magazine subscriptions.

• If you accidentally purchase the same digital product more than once, please contact us within 7 days—we may issue a refund at our discretion.


 

3. Print-on-Demand Merchandise

Our merchandise (such as t-shirts, totes, and other apparel or gifts) is printed on demand through third-party suppliers like Printful and Printify.

• We offer replacements or refunds only for items that are:

• Misprinted

• Damaged

• Defective upon arrival

• To be eligible, you must contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and photo evidence.

• We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges for:

• Incorrect sizing

• Change of mind

• Buyer’s remorse

Please check sizing guides and product details carefully before ordering.


 

4. Subscriptions (e.g. Online Book Club Memberships)

• You may cancel your subscription at any time.

• We offer a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you change your mind and have not yet accessed member content or benefits.

• After 7 days, your subscription becomes non-refundable. Cancellation will prevent the next billing cycle, but no partial refund will be issued.

• If physical member items (e.g. mailed gifts or packs) have already been sent, a refund may not be possible even within the 7-day window.


 

5. Sale Items

• Only regular-priced items may be refunded where applicable.

• Sale or discounted items are non-refundable unless required by law.


 

6. Faulty Products or Service Issues

In line with Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product or service:

• Is faulty or damaged

• Is significantly different from what was described

• Does not perform as promised

7. How to Request a Refund or Return

To request a return, replacement, or refund, contact us at:

If a return is approved, we will provide instructions.

Please do not return products to the manufacturer or supplier directly.


 

8. Shipping Costs

• If your item is faulty, damaged, or incorrectly fulfilled, we will cover return shipping costs where applicable.

• If your return is accepted as a goodwill gesture or for any other reason not covered by law, return shipping is your responsibility.
